Facebook has recently connected me with one of the most important people in my life and I’m a better person for it
One of my good friends mentioned listening to The Epoxies in a Facebook post today. Since Maura (not to be confused with The Other Maura) lieks the Epoxies, I thought I would lay down a little Portland Punk Rock history and talk about The Automatics.
The most direct connection between the Automatics and The Epoxies would be FM Static. In a previous life, FM Static was known as Jesse Kimball, bass player extraordinaire for The Automatics, one of the better Pop-Punk acts to come out of the early to mid 90’s.
They seem to be somewhat overlooked, which is a shame as The Automatics turned out a lot of great suburban Punk Rock anthems that deserve to be heard.
To that end, enjoy some prime cuts from The Automatics:
The Automatics – Mommy is a Commie
The Automatics – I Just Wanna Kill Myself
The Automatics – I Just Wanna Be With You
The Automatics – Don’t Come Between Us
The Automatics – Hate Your Generation
The Automatics – Will You Go With Me?
The Automatics – I Don’t Love You
If you can’t play the mp3 filesI have come up with a few ways for you to play the songs:
1. You can download and run an exe file that has all the songs and a small mp3 decoder wrapped together. Just download and click to play.
2. Click play on this:
So I get up this morning and ,ust have left my sanity in bed. I wasn’t up for more than an hour before I used the following words in the forbidden order:
“you” “today” “chuck” “to” “cheese” “guys” “go” “to” “want” “do” “e”
When put in the forbidden order, this spells:
“Do you guys want to go to Check E. Cheese today?
I don’t know what the hell I was thinking. A the words came out of my mouth I though, “No you fool, what are you doing?”
Anyway, we met our good friends and their kids there and the kids had a great time.
That place is just exhausting.
Totally loving English Pirate Facebook.
Thanks Tricia, you made my day!
